both full and part time positions is multi-staged and is designed to recruit

General Duties of a Deputy Sheriff - Responds to all calls
for service, writes reports on criminal cases, serves civil process, patrol,
inmate transports, or other duties as assigned.
Certified Deputy - 21 years of age.
60 credit hrs. from an accredited college, or Advanced Certificate
from CLEET.
Reside in Tulsa County within 90 days of employment.
Pass background investigation.
Pass a written exam at 70% or above.
Pass a oral screening board at 70% or above and interviews.
Weight in proportion to height.
Vision - Corrected distant vision 20/20 in each eye.
Successfully pass a physical/medical examination as established by
the Sheriff's Office.
Successfully pass a drug screening examination.
Successfully pass the MMPI psychological examination within 3 months
of employment.
Meet identity requirements as required by federal law.
No Protective Order or on probation/parole, no criminal record charges
pending, never convicted of a felony.
Successfully pass all required training.

APPLICATION PROCEDURE
The first step of the process begins by completing an application
for employment. You may pick up an employment application during regular
business hours at 303 W. 1st St. You should carefully and thoughtfully
complete the application. You may include your resume with your application.
Include with your application, a statement of your career goals and
why you wish to be a Tulsa County Sheriff's Office employee. Also, attach
a copy of your current drivers license and social security card, or
other recognized identity documents.
You must have 3 letters of reference written in your behalf and mailed
to the sheriff's Office Human Resources Department at the below address.
You must have a certified copy of your high school diploma and any
official college transcripts mailed by the granting institutions to
the sheriff's office Human Resources department at the below address.
In order to be eligible for testing, all documents should be submitted
at least 30 days before the examination for which you wish to be scheduled.
You will be notified in writing of the date and location of your pre-employment
examination. You must notify the TCSO Human Resources Department, at
least 5 working days before the date of the test, if you cannot sit
for the examination. You may make a written request to be rescheduled
for another examination. Failure to make proper notification may make
you ineligible for employment.
After taking the examination, you will be notified within 30 days
of the results of your examination and if you are eligible for further
employment processing. Passing an examination does not guarantee employment.
The names of successful candidates are considered for further processing
as positions within the Sheriff's Office become available. Your application
is kept on file for a 12 month period. After 12 months, to be reconsidered
for employment, you must make a new application.
If after your interview, there is a mutual employment interest, you
must successfully complete a background investigation, an oral screening
board, a psychological test, a physical agility test and drug examination.
Expected duration of the employment process is three to six months.
